5 Things We Know On A Sunday

  1. It fascinates me that we’ve heard no major news stories, if any at all, about folks catching or spreading coronavirus on airplanes. The cruise ships were floating petri dishes of sickness. You’d think the planes would have been the same, given what we were told about the virus. Yet there seems to be no stories of a certain flight with someone on it spreading it to others on the flight. Interesting.
  2. They took down a statue of a Texas Ranger at Love Field in Dallas this past week because some guy from Pittsburgh wrote a book that makes the law enforcement agency look bad at different times in its history. I think Governor Abbott should issue an order that no state agencies fly out of Love Field any more.
  3. Top 3 Truck Driving Songs All-Time. 3. “Girl On The Billboard” – Del Reeves. 2. “Teddy Bear” – Red Sovine. “Convoy” – C. W. McCall.
  4. I have a hard time trusting any Texan who doesn’t own at least one pair of boots. I’m not saying they can’t be trusted. I’m not saying I don’t trust them. I’m saying that I have to work extra hard to get there. I’d say the same thing about someone from New York who doesn’t like Italian food. Warning signs, ya know. . .
  5. Every time I see someone driving down the road wearing a mask in the confines of their own car, windows up, I worry about the future of America. I’ve noticed over the weeks that I’ve never seen anyone driving a truck wearing a mask. . .

  1. Your #5 is “spot on”!! I really believe that is a true indication of how well some of us were “duped” by this “pandemic”.

  2. #3 – my first two are the same. My #3 would be Joe Stampley’s – Roll On Big Mama.
#5 – have seen a lot of the same on our side of the state. And, not one has been in a truck. Just want to some how stop them and give them their sign but I’m pretty sure they wouldn’t understand that either.

  3. #3. I agree that “Roll On Big Mama” is good, but for a CW McCall song, you want “Wolf Creek Pass” instead of “Convoy.”
I know this because I am a CW McCall coneseur, conniesewer, conniseur….expert. A CW McCall expert.

  4. Roll on Big Mama; Six Days on the Road; I’ve Been Everywhere, are my top 3.
