The Raiderland Sit-Down, with Don Williams. Long-Time A-J Sportswriter Talks About Changes In Media, Covering Texas Tech And Much More. . .

Welcome to the first of what we hope will be many Raiderland Sit-Downs.

One of the things we want to do here in Raiderland is to provide context, to give our friends a look behind-the-scenes and to bring you some unique content. To that end, we debut this week the first “Raiderland Sit-Down”.

This week we sat down on the tail-gate of my truck with long-time Lubbock Avalanche-Journal Sports Writer Don Williams. Yep, the same guy who got his name first on our old call-in show. We talked about his first years in Lubbock media, the changes he’s seen in how he does his job and how covering Texas Tech has changed from the late 1980’s to today.

In Part Two of our sit-down with Don Williams we’ll take a look at his favorite games covering Texas Tech, some of his favorite personalities to interview and we’ll find out about the greatest interview he ever did. . .

I think you’ll enjoy Part One of our visit and I hope you enjoy the stories.
