With no mid-week game to recap for Texas Tech Baseball we’re all kinda sitting around waiting on the weekend series at Stillwater. Which is never fun…
In all the years I called Tech Baseball on radio, I never worked a series at Oklahoma State. It seemed to always fall while I was calling Lady Raider Basketball in March. I don’t feel like I got cheated out of anything. The annual trips to Stillwater for hoops were enough for me to get my Eskimo Joe’s fix and bring home enough plastic cups from there to last the year.
it’s kinda funny how some of those trips worked out back in the day. Mark Finkner was the lead voice then so he got all the trips and I filled in when I could until hoops ended. Back in the 90s and early 2000s, that usually meant late may or even April for the Lady Raiders. Hope that becomes the norm again soon for that program.
So there were a few places I never had the joy of calling a Big 12 Baseball game at… OSU, and Texas A&M.
Again. I don’t feel completely cheated out of anything on that deal!
