5 Things We Know On A Sunday

1. Cat Creep is real. Once upon a time we had no cats. Then a few years ago, we got one. Then he needed a friend. So we adopted another cat from the hard streets of West Texas. Then a cat showed up. And had kittens….Once we had no cat tree. Now we have not one, but two cat trees with the second being slightly larger than my first apartment. Cat creep. It’s real.
2. Fact. Knowing what not to do, is just as powerful as knowing what to do. Maybe more so.
3. It amazes me that more restaurants around West Texas don’t have Frito Pie on their regular menu. Heck, just Fall and Winter around here it would be a big seller. The profit margin on the meal has to be huge. And if you serve it right, you don’t even need a plate. . . Can’t believe we give these ideas out for free in the column.
4. Looking around Lubbock these days, if I’d been smarter in my 20s, I would have invested in these enterprises: Storage Units, Nail Salons, Iced Tea Places and 24-Hour Photo Processing Stands. Well, four out of five weren’t bad ideas!
5. If you knew you were having your last conversation with someone, how would it change how you interact with them? Whether it’s a family member, a close friend or even just an acquaintance, perhaps someone you will only talk to one time. If you knew it was the last visit, how would you modify your tone or even the topics? Now, what if we tried to approach all of our interactions with folks in that manner? I think the national discourse in this country would improve overnight if we tried to be our best in conversations, always thinking – “What if this is how this person would remember me going forward?”. Just something to think about as you begin your week.
