5 Things We Know On A Sunday

Our weekly column is brought to you in part today by The Shropshire Agency and by Kyle Rogers, our Realtor in Raiderland! Local folks doing great things for Lubbock and West Texans.

  1. I’ve been hungry many times in my life. I’ve never been hungry enough to trust the donuts and/or other foods left in an office kitchen area after about 10AM. For the most part, they’re brought up to the station by sales weasels. You never know how long they’ve had that box of food in the car. In fact, it’s just good policy to never eat anything anyone else brings up to your place of work. IF it were really that good, the person bringin it would have eaten it their own selves.
  2. Texas Tech supporters are the kindest, most indulgent and excuse-enduring folks on the planet when it comes to certain aspects of the university. That’s the only way to explain the consistent and substantial support Texas Tech grads and supporters provide Texas Tech Football.
  3. Top 3 Awkward Questions You Get At The Grocery Store ( no context ) No. 3. Do you want me to wrap that? No. 2 Do you need any ice or stamps? No. 1 So, says the 16-year old kid… Got any interesting plans for the day?????
  4. If you’re of a certain age, I’m sure you think there’s a video arcade game that most folks couldn’t beat you at. For me? Tempest. Great game. No many folks could handle the sudden, swift nature of the electric bolts. Me? I relished the challenge right after rolling a 184 at Brunswick Bowling!
  5. Sadly, once again, we were given a demonstration by Alec Baldwin that it’s never the fault of the gun. I pray for him and all involved in the horrible killing that unfolded in New Mexico this week on a movie set. The gun is a mere instrument used by people. . .
