1. The whole NORAD Santa Tracker is one of the coolest things ever. If the internet only existed for that purpose alone, it would be worth it. 8-year old me would be locked-in on that thing and would have had an even harder time going to sleep than I did on Christmas Eve!
2. I love the old style Coca-Cola Santa Claus/Christmas promotions. My grandfather ran a Piggly-Wiggly store (Stores) for many years and he ended up bringing home all sorts of Coke-Themed Christmas decorations, cardboard stand-ups, glasses and whatnot over the years. I’ve got a few still. Not nearly as many as I wish I had. As a child, they were the perfect accompaniment to Christmas. I still associate Christmas with Coca-Cola, and that’s OK by me.
3. Top 3 Things To Leave Out For Santa On Christmas Eve: #3. Cookies. #2. Hot Wings ( Dry-rub only because the sauce gets on the gloves and the beard ). #1.Cold Pizza. He really likes thin-crust with pepperoni. If it’s already cold, it travels well and he can eat it over Bolivia or Montana. Doesn’t matter. As for beverage… Egg Nog or Shiner Bock works. Santa likes options ya know!
4. “It’s A Wonderful Life” is the greatest Christmas movie ever. No real need for discussion. “Arthur Christmas” is the best new Christmas movie made in the last 20 years or so. Phineas and Ferb’s “Christmas Vacation” episode is highly underrated.
5. We wouldn’t be talking about any of this stuff if God his Ownself hadn’t sent down his Son to be born as a Man, to live as one of us and to die for our sins. You’ll get no greater gift, you’ll give no greater gift than what God has given to all of us in the form of Christ Jesus. The great thing about that gift???? It’s not limited to “Christmas Time”! It’s there waiting for everyone each and every day. Unwrap your gift!
