5 Things We Know On A Sunday
- I enjoy nothing more than knowing I don’t have to travel the week of Thanksgiving. For those of you heading out this week, you have our prayers for safety and enjoyable trips. But, after a few decades of constantly being gone covering college sports during this week, it will never get old being home. There is, no place like home.
- I am convinced, along with many others, air travel would be better if folks still dressed-up for it. Of course, I could probably say the same thing about folks going to the grocery store these days…
- Mincemeat pie is the GOAT of pies. Pecan is a close second. A great chocolate cream pie works right in there. Pumpkin? Pumpkin? It deserves no spot at the Round Table of Great Pies.
- The Village Idiots in charge of P.E.T.A. have urged the quaint West Texas town of Turkey to change its name to Tofurkey for Thanksgiving. Here’s hope the great folks at the home of Bob Wills Day do change their name, for one day. Smoked Turkey or Fried Turkey would be just fine be me.
- One of the biggest things we can be thankful for this week is the fact that you never have to stop being thankful for any and all great blessings, big and small, in your life. Let this Thursday start a 365 day stretch of waking up each morning Thankful. You’ll see very quickly you’ve got a lot more to be thankful about than you thought. And with that in mind, we want y’all to know how thankful we are here in Raiderland for taking time out of your day to watch our show, read our columns and add your comments on the site, our Facebook and Twitter/X pages and our Youtube channel. Y’all make this fun!
