6/12/23 Question O’ The Day: What Does Lubbock Need? Raiderland Helmet Sticker Day, So Get Ready For Tonight’s Show!

Brought to you in part by Premier Sportsplex in Lubbock. Great summer programs for your kids. Check them out on their site!

Happy Monday, y’all. Gonna be a great week. We’ll hand out our first Raiderland Helmet sticker of the week to now Former Texas Tech great Ludvig Aberg. All he did was close out the RBC Canadian Open with 3 straight birdies to get to -7 for the weekend and finish T25 in his pro PGA debut. Not bad. The man is gonna be quite the golf story this summer we believe.

Now, let’s get to our Question O’ The Day. We saw a lot of Man V. Food this weekend when we weren’t watching college baseball Super Regional action (Way to go ORU!). Why were we watching a lot of Man V. Food? Because they have it on 12 hours a day on weekends right now, not that I’m complaining. So, here’s our Question O’ The Day:

If Lubbock had a Food Challenge, what would it be? Create a food challenge or competition at some of Lubbock’s best restaurants. Maybe it’s 15 Fried Cheese pieces from Spanky’s in 15 minutes? Maybe it’s a super BBQ challenge at Evie Mae’s? I don’t know. It’s up to you. What would you create to get Casey Webb to come to Lubbock? What challenge could you defeat? Post your answers here and we’ll read the best on the Daily Broadcast tonight around 6:30ish on Twitter Live and Facebook Live.

Ok, you’ve got your mission for the day. Complete it and we’ll chat tonight. Lots to talk about.

  1. The “Lubbock Challenge” is an event, not a one stop gut buster.

It will be held at Cook’s Garage and feature several local offerings. Ok, actually, yes it will still be a gut buster but the real challenge will be to not say, “That’s the best I ever had” after each dish.

    The lineup:
    – Cast Iron burrito with a side of biscuits n gravy and a slice of pie
    – dozen Pedro’s tamale’s
    – LBK Brewery flight
    – Spanky’s fried cheese sticks
    – Gator’s boudin egg rolls
    – Two Doc’s Brewery flight
    – Ike’s/Teddy Jack’s fried shrooms and zucchini
    – One Guy’s Calzone
    – Llano Estacado Winery flight
    – Orlando’s mafia chips n queso
    – Evie Mae’s 5 meat platter with sides
    – Holly Hop’s triple scoop waffle cone

    • I guess I forgot to add a time limit.

Since this would incorporate multiple venders operating “off property” there would need to be some sort of sign-up beforehand and therefore with multiple participants the challenge could then become simply the first to finish.

p.s. I purposely chose venders whose particular items could be easily “catered” without sacrificing freshness and quality
