5 Things We Know On A Sunday

Brought to you in part today by Kyle Rogers, our realtor in Raiderland and a driving force for the U Can Share Food ( Fund ) Drive in Lubbock. Thanks Kyle, for serving Lubbock!

5 Things We Know On A Sunday

  1. Why would anyone want Texas to secede from the Union? Given the current state of politics in the Metroplex, Austin, San Antone, and Houston; what would be different? Now, if you’re thinking you want to do something different, the State of West Texas sounds interesting. The only question is where do we lop off the rest of the state? Seems like just West of Ranger works for me.
  2. It boggles my mind why Texas Tech’s National Ranching Heritage Center couldn’t host folks for Candlelight at the Ranch this year. It’s outside. It’s West Texas. Folks can socially distance. Or not. They’re West Texans. They ought to have the right to go out and be a part of one of the coolest things in the State of Texas at Christmas-time. Instead, Texas Tech is doing a “virtual” thing. What a waste. What a squandering of pioneer spirit.
  3. Top 3 Animated Christmas Specials: #3. Santa Claus Is Coming To Town. #2. A Charlie Brown Christmas. #1 Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer. Honorable Mention: Dr. Suess’ How The Grinch Stole Christmas, The Year Without A Santa Claus.
  4. A great tamale is better than a great taco.
  5. I hate, loathe and despise every “Christmas” ad on TV that references in any way, shape or form Coronavirus, Covid, Staying At Home, The “New Normal” Being Away From Family, locking-down, wearing masks, neglecting our older family members by not visiting them; or anything that has to do with everything wrong with 2020. Why in the devil would you want to associate your product with a negative? What do folks want at Christmas? Hope. Fun. Escape. Any company running an ad that plays upon the negative of the year, I try to avoid and shop elsewhere. In my house, we embrace prosperity and hope, not scarcity and negativity!
