5 Things We Know On A Sunday

1. It’s amazing what a couple of weeks worth solid rains will do for the land and the people of West Texas. It’s like a New Year around these parts. It’s a good reminder for us to “take the weather with you” as Jimmy Buffett wrote. No reason we can’t feel this upbeat all the time. . . Remind me of this in July!
2. I’m convinced the Blue Bell could come out with “Pond Scum & Perch Bits” flavored ice cream and folks would stand in line to buy it. . .
3. Top 3 Quotable Movies All-time: No. 3.The Princess Bride. No.2. Tombstone. No.1. The Godfather.
4. Does Lubbock need a “Chip & Joanna Gaines” like Waco or a “Ree Drummond – Pioneer Woman” impact like Pawhuska, Oklahoma? Or, is Lubbock too big and too diverse now for any single individual or family to have that kind of economic and social impact? I’ll let you guys discuss amongst yourselves. . .
5. How long should you wait to honk at someone who is sitting through a green light? I have decided 7.5 seconds is the right amount of time. 1.7 seconds works if you can tell they’re on their phone. If they’ve got a bunch of kids in the car with them, wave and smile when you do it. If they have a “Bandidos Rule” sticker on the back, feel free to enjoy a moment of solitude in your vehicle. They’ll go when they go. 🙂
