Happy Wednesday, Y’all !
This week is flying by!
We got some much needed rain around West Texas Tuesday so folks are in a good mood. We’re also one day closer to Texas Tech getting the College World Series started against Mississippi State on Thursday. Love the fact Texas Tech is playing the first game of the day. We don’t have to wait around and neither do the Red Raiders. That’s a big advantage for them and the Bulldogs. They get to work on a normal schedule and don’t have to wait on other games going long and have to sit around.
We’ll discuss more of that tonight as well as more of the NCAA decision to deny reinstatement for Brendan Sorsby to play at Texas Tech. So, Tech is now appealing the appeal. We have no issue with that, but we do take issue with the long love letter Dr. Lawrence Schovanec released late Tuesday.
There was no reason for Texas Tech to get involved beyond just the appeal. We know the whole NCAA is hypocritical, but it’s a bad look and a bad hill to die on, and Tech will die on this hill. This is the one suit the NCAA can actually win. It’s just that simple.
Add in the SEC coaches acting like they’re saving college sports and or threatening to leave the NCAA if they don’t get their way…take your pick on a given statement and we’ve got plenty to talk about. Who knows what the sports landscape will look like later this afternoon.
