This time Friday we’ll be just a few hours away from some of the most high-pressure softball Texas Tech will play this year. The Super Regional for Texas Tech is a Prove Them Wrong Moment. Prove the NCAA Selection folks wrong and prove ESPN wrong in a way. They may be the same folks. We don’t know for sure.
Either way, for this Tech team that was ranked in the Top 5 all season long only be be seeded 11 in the Tournament because of their RPI…this feels like a big moment in the program right now. Lots of folks want to be able to say I Told You So. Both Texas Tech fans and the elite programs that really don’t want Texas Tech at their Softball Party.
In a way, making the CWS at OKC would be less of a high-stress moment. If you do that as Texas Tech, you’re playing on house money. No, not a Sorsby reference. But they gotta get there and it starts Friday morning for this Red Raider squad. If you’re looking for a place to gather with friends in Lubbock, Gator’s Bayou is opening early to show the game. Drop by 98th and Slide and tell them Raiderland sent you!
