No Texas Tech Football this weekend, no problem. We’ve got plenty of great stuff going on around Raiderland and beyond!
It starts with Texas Tech Lady Raiders on the road at Washington State late tonight at Washington State. The Lady Raiders should be able to handle a one-win Cougar squad before heading back to play ACU Sunday after in Odessa. That’s right, the Lady Raiders in the Petro-Plex. Maybe Billy Bob Thornton will drop by….
Saturday morning it’s a big-time Big 12 vs SEC match-up in Dallas where #16 Texas Tech gets #17 Arkansas in a re-match of last season’s Sweet 16 game that Tech won in OT. Only Christian Anderson and JT Toppin return from that for Texas Tech, but make no mistake this is a huge game for NCAA seeding purposes in March. If Texas Tech can get the win in front of what should be another good Red Raider crowd it takes all the pressure off of taking on Duke on the 20th in NYC. That would just be a bonus at that point to win or play close. Either way that game will help the old RPI…
As if that wasn’t enough, we’ve got the Army-Navy game this weekend, the Greatest American Sporting Event, and then a great slate of NFL games on Sunday to finish off the weekend.
With no Texas Tech Football, and we are checking at the end of this column to see if any more Red Raiders have won awards since we started writing… we’ll take all this action and soak it in.
