Happy Friday, Y’all !
“And the waiting, is the hardest part…” – Tom Petty And The Heartbreakers
And so the wait begins for Texas Tech MBB and the Lady Raiders continue their wait for Selection Show Sunday and where they’ll end up in the NCAA Tournament. Iowa State made quick work of Texas Tech’s stay in KC Thursday with a 75-53 demolition of the Red Raiders. The third loss in a row for the Red Raiders puts Tech squarely on the 5-line this morning. We’ll see. The Lady Raiders could end up on the 6-line, but for the first time in a long time, Texas Tech fans know that both teams are solidly in the NCAA Tournament. That works.
What didn’t work in Kansas City was the gimmicky LED glass court. And now it’s gone. Of course that’s a little too late for the teams that played and slipped around on it up until last night. Notably Texas Tech’s Christian Anderson going down late Thursday with an apparent groin strain. Never fun. Here’s the story for Kansas City late last night.
It was a joke of a court last week for the women’s tournament but Brett Yormark didn’t care. So, the Big 12 just wasted $185,000.00 to rent a gimmick that cheapened the sport. Great job. Probably the biggest mistake Yormark has made at the Big 12 leader.
We’ll have much on this tonight on The Daily Broadcast as well as preview Big 12 opener series for Texas Tech Softball at home vs #12 Arizona and Tech Baseball hosting Kansas over at The Law this weekend.
