Hopefully everyone enjoyed a little Spring rain this weekend and some really cool temps. Maybe the last we’ll see for a while so enjoy it!
Of course the rain nuked the Texas Tech Football Spring game down in Midland, and I’m not sure many folks minded that much. Could be wrong. We’ll ask that question tonight on The Daily Broadcast when we visit with y’all LIVE at 6:30 on Twitter, YouTube and Facebook. As y’all know, I don’t worry too much or put too much stock into Spring games. I don’t think the coaches minded not having to go put on the show either…
Meanwhile, out at The Law, after stomping WVU on Friday night, the rain forced a DH Sunday and Texas Tech used great pitching and timely hitting and not just a little defense to sweep the Mountaineers. First time WVU had been swept since 2021. Tech needed a big weekend and got it. The wins move Texas Tech up to 28 in the D1 Baseball RPI Rankings. That’s a season high.
Like a lot of Tim Tadlock teams in the past, this one is rounding into form inn late April. Roles are getting defined and jobs are getting claimed by young guys and old alike. Though there aren’t many old guys to do the claiming. With 3 Big 12 series to go before the meaningless Big 12 Tournament, Tech has a legitimate shot at a top three finish in the league. It’s almost time for “Football Guy” to come back around and enjoy some college baseball.
Almost.
