Happy Monday, y’all!
There’s betting swept, and then there’s getting swept at Kansas. Somehow that makes it worse if you’re a Texas Tech fan. It shouldn’t because KU is a rock-solid team this year. But it does.
So now what for Texas Tech Baseball?
Tech has a three-week season to play at this point. You get OU at home, OSU on the road and then finish with at non-conference series in Tempe, AZ against both Arizona State and UNLV. You need wins. Several.
Take the series at home, don’t get swept at OSU and then take two games in the desert and you’re in the NCAA Tournament as a likely 3-seed. Hopefully that means you don’t go to College Station and the Death Star that is Olsen Field right now. That’s really my only goal right now for Tech Baseball. Make tournament, don’t play the Aggies.
Can Texas Tech do it? We had a huge Diamond Talk about that Sunday night. Watch it here:
Your guess is as good as mind right now. . .
Raiderland Helmet Stickers
If it looked good on Texas Tech QB Jim Hart in the early 80s, everyone should wear them. I’d put them on my truck if I could get some!
Each Monday we have y’all tell us who deserves recognition for being awesome, sports or non-sports. You give them stickers and then we talk about them on the Daily Broadcast tonight at 6:30, LIVE on Twitter, Facebook, YouTube. So post in the comments and let’s talk about great folks. Be sure and subscribe or follow us on all platforms. It’s great for our sponsors, and with out them we don’t exist and you’ll never miss a thing. In fact, be sure and tell any of our sponsors you see on social media, Thank You for being a part of Ryan Hyatt’s Raiderland!
So, here’s a few of our Helmet Sticker winners this week:
- Texas Tech catcher Dylan Maxcey. Drilled in the head Saturday. Went to the hospital in Kansas. Went to the team hotel, had supper and was back in uniform Sunday. Gamer.
- LCU Baseball. Wins their first Lone Star Conference Championship this weekend. Larry Hays built it…others maintained it. Nathan Blackwood has elevated it . Respect. #PeckEm
- All good dogs. My Brother-In-Law and his family had to say goodbye to an awesome dog this weekend. He got a fine resting place out here in the country where we call home. He’ll be watched over by our dogs and get to see sunsets and more forever on. Good boy.
