Great situational hitting, quality run-saving defense and pitching great when it needed to be. We finally get to write that about Texas Tech Baseball again as they flashed all of those qualities and more beating Texas 6-4 late Tuesday night/early Wednesday morning on Day One of the Big 12 Baseball Tournament.
It had been a while since we’d seen a complete game like that from the Red Raiders and they had to have it. Tim Tadlock started Kyle Robinson knowing how important not falling into the loser’s bracket would be on Day One. It worked. Now it’s Tech vs Oklahoma State tonight in Arlington. Don’t get too excited just yet. A long way to go still for Texas Tech as they have to run the table and win the tournament to qualify for the NCAA Tournament. Just making the finals won’t get you there.
But for one night at least, you got to see Texas Tech play some really good baseball.
