5 Things We Know On A Sunday
- No great new Christmas song has been written in the last 40 years. Maybe 50.
- I miss being able to go to the store and just buy light bulbs. Your choices were 100, 60 or 40 watt for the most part and every bulb fit into every socket in your house. I have about 15 bulbs right now that I have no idea where they go and none of them give off the same kind of light any ways. Make Light Bulbs Simple Again!
- I must be the only person in West Texas not really getting into Taylor Sheridan’s new series “Landman”. So far it just hasn’t done much for me. I know a few landmen myself and none of them have ever been pistol whipped by a Mexican cartel member. Perhaps they’re doing the job wrong. I’ll give it another shot though…At least Sheridan respects West Texas enough not to make Midland-Odessa look like a Hollywood cartoon of what they think Texas is about.
- Companies need to get back to making really cool, traditional style Christmas commercials. Folks will respond and remember them. Just look at Coca-Cola over the years. Give the people what they love.
- When you get right down to it, tamales are a better breakfast choice than “burritos” or “tacos”. We need more Breakfast Tamales out there. Make it happen, West Texans! Drive the demand. Tamale Lady needs us!
