5 Things We Know On A Sunday
- We all agree we should leave the clocks just as they are starting today, right! Keep Daylight Saving Time all year around. This may be the one issue more Americans agree on than anything else. That we can’t seem to even get this done with our politicians tells you all you need to know about their ability to tackle “real” issues. Enjoy your evenings, West Texans! The sun is back!
- While we’re fixing simple things, since we are mandated by law to have working headlights, taillights and blinkers… they should be easy and quick to replace and not cost a fortune. If you want to add after-market gadgets, knock yourself out; that’s on you. But it should not cost hundreds of dollars to replace a simple light system…
- We’re now in the thick of high school track, softball and baseball season. So, expect some mid-week dust storms over the next month. This is proven science. Also, depending upon the weather, parents working in the concession stand will be either 20 degrees colder or hotter than everyone else. Science.
- We may be living in the Ultimate Era for BBQ in Lubbock and West Texas. From Rejino BBQ To The Shack, Evie Mae’s to Triple Js and many others out there, Lubbock has a thriving BBQ scene. I can’t recall another time with so many great options. I’m sure I’m leaving some out, so tell us some of your favorites whether right in the Hub City or in the surrounding area.
- We’re just a few weeks away from Major League Baseball cranking up. That means pretty much every day or night of the week you can listen to baseball on the radio. That’s a great thing. No other sports allows itself to be captured by the theater of the mind than baseball. It’s almost a therapeutic anachronism now in today’s hype-media sensory onslaught. Welcome back baseball.
