Happy Wednesday, Y’all !

Thankfully this week is moving along nicely. One day away from the NFL being back on stage and then we’ll be on to Friday Night Lights and the moderately anticipated match-up between Texas Tech and Oregon State.

I know some Texas Tech fans have opined and worried online that Texas Tech fans weren’t taking the Beavers seriously. First off, you always take beavers seriously. I’ve Always said that. Second off, it really doesn’t matter what the fans think or do this week, only what the Red Raiders are doing inside the Football Complex. I have a feeling they’re taking this game seriously, as they know any misstep can cost them greatly in the Big 12 or national scene this year. And that is what this team is about. So in short, fans can look ahead and it’s no big deal. That said, I’d go back to what Spike Dykes used to say back in the era of 11-game seasons. “My gosh! How can you not get up for something you only get to do 11 times a year!!!” He was talking about players but as fans, you only get a few of these games a year, so don’t give one away!

We’ll have plenty of Texas Tech Football, Big 12, NFL and more to get into tonight on The Daily Broadcast. Join us LIVE at 6:30 Central on X, YouTube and Facebook. What IF Wednesday

We love Alt. History here in Raiderland. From sports to politics and entertainment, the great What IFs always make for fun discussion. History can turn on a dime. Things could have been different if big and small decisions and actions alike had gone just a little bit in another direction. So, each Wednesday we give you a What IF scenario and y’all sound off in the comments.

This week is for our NASCAR friends out there. When football starts, NASCAR tv ratings go down in a major way. That said, NASCAR has been losing fans for years now since the peak popularity of around 2010 or so. The sport is in a major decline. Could things have been different?

What IF: Dale Earnhardt survived his 2001 crash at the Daytona 500.

Would his presence in the sport of the past 25 years have changed the trajectory of NASCAR? Would he have become the “elder statesman”? Would he be fielding multiple cars that had major sponsors and top drivers? What would the impact of Dale Earnhardt be on NASCAR today if he were still with us?

Or…would anything have changed for the sport?

You tell us in the comments.
