5 Things We Know On A Sunday: Most Underrated Halloween Candy, If Corporations Advertised Like Politicians…High Standards, Time To Be Great And We Need More Linus In This World

Presented each week by Shropshire Insurance of Texas. Based in Lubbock, big enough for the whole Great State of Texas! Independent just like you. Give Jeff a holler this week and let them get to work on your insurance needs. Tell them Raiderland sent you their way!

5 Things We Know On A Sunday

  1. The Zero bar is one of the most underrated candy bars of all-time. If you want to be cool and stand out this Halloween, hand out some of those bad boys. You will gain respect. Of course that will be one of the first things the parents steal out of the Trick-or-Treat basket, but that’s the tax some kids have to pay this year!
  2. Was thinking this weekend how much more fun TV would be if major corporations like Ford McDonalds or Domino’s took the same approach in their advertising that political candidates do. . . “Mary in California once drove a Ford, and now she’s dead. That’s right. She drove a Ford and she died. This message brought to you by Friends Of Chevy, don’t drive a Ford and die —-Announcers voice at the end… Mary had an appendicitis at 79 years of age, while not driving her Ford…”
  3. If more Americans held themselves and their companies to the same standard they try to hold their favorite sports teams; American output and production would explode. Everyone would be millionaires. Overnight.
  4. Whatever you told yourself you’d do in 2026, good news, you still got 67 days to make it happen. That’s plenty of time. Whatever it is, just get rolling on it. Unless it was to go see New England in September. That ones kinda gone. But otherwise, get after it and finish this year strong! You’ll be amazed what you can do.
  5. In a world where far too many folks walk around jaded and convinced nothing good is out there, be Linus. Be Linus as he was in “It’s The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown!”. Find your own “sincere pumpkin patch” and find some good things to believe in this week. Linus showed us how to do it. And if your Great Pumpkin doesn’t show up this week or this year, keep on believing. That’s Faith. And we all could use a little more of it.
