Happy Thursday, y’all!
Either/Or Thursday
Each Thursday we ask the tough questions. No Namby-Pamby “maybe or it depends” answers. You gotta choose. Here what we want to know this week:
When it comes to Texas Tech Football coaches and how they performed, who was a bigger disappointment overall and why? Either Tommy Tuberville, OR Matt Wells.
Raiderland Hot-Links
Let’s get the morning started with some cool stuff. We’ve got Roger Staubach, Billy Joe Tolliver and a great Red Raider Leader.
The Greatness of Billy Joe Tolliver on with the Krack Man. About a year ago, but the stories are still awesome.
With new model ahead, NIL hearing highlights why NCAA is ‘so inept’
Pride of Marshall, Texas
I’d say Tuberville. This is a guy that came in with an SEC championship and undefeated season under his belt and Tech seemingly ready to go to that next level and it was clear pretty early he didn’t want to be here and he began the string of hiring really bad DCs.
Your analysis is not wrong!
Hyatt
I’m not gonna lie. I was fired up when Tuberville was hired! He had a very successful track record as a HC in the SEC and I thought he could do big things at Tech! Obviously, those “big things” didn’t happen. He did recruit well, but over time, it seemed that he was more interested in self promotion than he was in coaching. It’s inexcusible for him to leave a recruit at a restaurant.
I thought it was best to move on from Ruffin and Riley, and in retrospect, that would have been the better decision. Although, Riley probably still goes to OU in 17.
