5 Things We Know On A Sunday
- Hot Dogs. Hot Dogs were created, by the Good Lord, for July the 4th. No doubt about it. If you eat a hot dog on the 4th of July, you’re honoring the Founding Fathers. There’s no better food item, nothing that screams America, more than a Hot Dog. Don’t let us down this Thursday, have a Hot Dog for America and Raiderland. Report back with photos and proof of enjoyment!!!!
- Some may disagree, but I think the Founding Fathers would look at America today and be proud. I mean, once we showed them an Air Fryer, let them listen to some Lynard Skynard and then showed them Lonesome Dove… I really think they’d settle back a realize they did something good. We’d then explain that women can now vote and that we send all of our money over seas to other countries so they can fight wars, but after that, we’d let them know we have endless shrimp and breadsticks at some restaurants. Again, I think they’d believe they’d done good.
- Top 3 American Patriots/ Sports Heroes: No. 3. Roger Staubach. Honored his Naval Academy commitment in war time, served four years before starting NFL career at a time many Americans looked for other options, right or wrong. No. 2. Ted Williams. Greatest hitter all-time. Marine Aviator WWII and Korea. Could have gotten light duty. Chose to kill enemies instead. No. 1. Pat Tillman. If we need to explain why you need to do some research.
- I’m really thankful I was old enough to remember the 4th of July Celebrations in 1976. The Bicentennial was cool. I was young, but understood. The “Tall Ships” in Boston Harbor, the sold out Amarillo Gold Sox game that day with free ice cream then a fireworks show at Dick Bivins Stadium… I remember it all. I hope that I live long enough that someone will be impressed by those recollections.
- You don’t have to love Every Thing about America to Love America.
