With ever rise there is a fall. The bigger the gain, the bigger the loss.
We’re seeing that in realtime with the Kansas City Chiefs and Patrick Mahomes. In a season that had already seen them lose 7 one-score games, the 16-13 loss at home to the Chargers was that tipping-point, eliminating them from the post-season and marred by a season-ending torn ACL for Mahomes.
All of it. All at once. An ugly end to one of the best decades of football the NFL has seen certainly in the Salary Cap Era.
For Kansas City, the question becomes: What’s Next?
Is it a total rebuild? Does Andy Reid retire? Is he up for a 2/3 rebuild? Does Travis Kelce marry a struggling, young singer and call it a career? Is he forced out? It’s all of those questions and more facing the Chiefs.

B: Patrick Mahomes injury. Micha Parsons injury. It’s a tough business. Rough day for NFL stars.
U: NFL officiating. It’s amazingly hard to believe sometimes what is and is not called. It does ruin some of the viewer experience though and that should be enough for the NFL to do all they can to improve it. I mean, you’re not MLB so don’t act like it!
