Happy Friday, Y’all !

Seems like we were just starting off the week having great shows from Red River, New Mexico at The Red River Brewery next to Lifts West Hotel & Condominium. Time flies when you’re having fun.

Now the weekend is full upon us and we’ve already got plenty of Texas Tech action to talk about. Texas Tech Softball started it off with a 7-0 win over Baylor in the quarters of the Big 12 Tournament Thursday. They get Kansas in the semis today at 3PM. First game of the day so you don’t have to worry about any delays like yesterday.

Did we mention how much we love the Big 12 going to single-elimination formats for the Softball and Baseball Tournament? Well. We love it. The tournaments really need to go away. Neither is a money-maker at this point. The baseball coaches absolutely hate it if they have a team already set for the NCAA Tournament. They’re a vestige of a long-gone past. Get rid of them!

Speaking of Texas Tech Baseball, they gritted and gutted out a 2-1 win over BYU Thursday night at The Law. Great start for Kayson Raineri and then Logan Addison closed it out with two innings of relief. It keeps Texas Tech on pace to ( barely ) make the Big 12 Tournament. We think they still need two more wins for sure, but that was the kind of game this program has lost the last couple of years. It shows they’re still bought in at this point, even after a horrendous stretch of losses in Big 12 play.

We’ll talk about that and a lot more tonight on The Daily Broadcast with y’all tonight LIVE at 5:30 Central. Join in and get your comments and questions fired away via X, The Raiderland YouTube Channel and our growing Facebook Page. Sign-up for each platform and never miss a thing.

If you weren’t able to take in our Thursday show, we had a lot to talk about. Catch up here. We have everything right here on the site a few minutes after each show ends. Feel free to share with a friend who needs more Texas Tech and West Texas in their lives!

Most Texan Thing

Each Friday for over a decade now, we’ve asked folks one simple question: What’s The Most Texan Thing You’ve Done This Week?

Sometimes it’s big, sometimes it’s small. Either way, the world needs more Texans doing Texan things. Tell us your story in the comments below and be sure to share it on your Facebook or X feeds.

As for us, just being a Texan in New Mexico driving around with Texas plates on the truck was probably good enough! If they would show me where to donate, I’d even chip in to finish fixing the road from Logan to Mosquero. Those who know, know…

Fire away in the comments and let’s see how y’all did this week?

What Did You Learn This Week

In honor of our friend and great Lubbock radio host Chad Hasty, who passed away last week, we are going to start asking the question he used so effectively for so many years on his show and social media.

What did you learn this week?

From the world of sports to life in general, tell us what life taught you these last few days.

We learned that it’s always a good idea to check your tires before you go on a road trip. Thank you Pete’s Tire & Service in Ropesville for helping us drive safely this past week!

Thank you Chad for the great question. You stole enough from me over the years… I’m stealing this one back!!!!!!!

Raiderland Hot Links

Each morning we serve ’em up, Fresh and Hot. The best links from Raiderland and Beyond! We figure if we like it, you will too. See something you like, hit us up on Facebook or X!
