3/27/24: Overrated, Underrated, Rated Right Wednesday – Texas Music Style, Tech Baseball Rolls Lumberjacks, Raiderland Hot-Links Featuring Baseball, Dogs, Crazy Home Runs, Chickens And Joe Ely

Brought to you by The Reserve, A Culinary Tavern, 103rd St. and Quaker in Lubbock.

Happy Wednesday, y’all!

It started off slow and ended with a bang Tuesday as the Texas Tech Red Raiders run-ruled SFA 16-4 in 8 innings. After giving up two runs to start the game, Tech pitching settled in and the bats woke up in the middle innings.

It wasn’t a game you’d send to the Hall of Fame, but on a Tuesday against a team that came in losing 21 straight, you take the win and move on to UCF. In the Big 12 this year, if you just keep winning series from here on out you’ll finish in the top three in the standings. Want more, you’ll have to sweep a few and that could mean this weekend. The RPI is the main thing though as it’s looking like as we get to April that the Big 12 might not be sending a lot of teams to the NCAA Tournament this year and odds of a Top 8 National Seed for the league are long right now.

We’ve got a ways to go yet, but the math has to add up at some point and right now it doesn’t add up for this league. To point, just by playing SFA, Tech’s RPI went down six spots to 71. That’s not good…
