5 Things We Know On A Sunday
- The older I get, the more I begin to think that United States Marine Corps Lieutenant Colonel Nathan R. Jessup; Commanding Officer, Marine Ground Forces, Guantanamo Bay Cuba…was right.
- There should be at least one animated Christmas Special on network TV each night in December. From Santa Claus Is Coming To Town to the dreadful Frosty The Snowman. You can show Emmet Otter’s Jug Band Christmas a couple of times a week as well. If President Donald Trump and the FCC really want to make America TV Great Again, they need to mandate this today. It would give millions of Americans to remember that the TV networks still exist….
- I’m going to hold Texas Tech Football Head Coach Joey McGuire personally responsible if he keeps making West Texas cool and tons of Yankees and whatnot move out here. It’s bad enough Taylor Sheridan is making folks want to move out here with his shows, now we’ve got a great ambassador like McGuire. Sorry folks. West Texas is full. Moose out front shoulda told ya!
- Why can’t we paint parking lot spaces large enough to handle modern day Pick-Up Trucks and SUV’s here in West Texas? It’s not just a matter of getting a truck parked in most lots now, it’s that once you do, you can’t open your door without having to leave your insurance agent’s number for scratching up someone’s door. Another reason I just park as far off as I can and make the walk. Saves time for the most part anyways instead of playing parking lot Jenga with your truck. Business owners! Give up a few spaces and make it better for all involved. . .
- Fact. One of the coolest Christmas Traditions around West Texas is the National Ranching Heritage Center’s annual Candlelight At The Ranch event. A pure throwback in time to simpler, if not harsher, days on the South Plains. If you’re anywhere close to Lubbock next weekend you need to make your way out. Your kids will love it and y’all will appreciate the authenticity and honest of Christmas days gone by. Another reason why West Texas Is The Best Texas!
