Happy Monday, Y’all!

Well. You don’t get a weekend like that all the time if you’re a Texas Tech fan….

We spent a lot of time Saturday on Raiderland Rewind Presented by Live Life Well Clinic of Lubbock talking not so much about the total domination Texas Tech Football had over BYU in the Big 12 Championship game; but rather what it meant to Texas Tech fans in general. For some fan bases it would be hard to understand what Saturday’s win meant. Not years, but rather decades and generations of frustrations and wait-til-next-year and maybe someday… all of it came crashing down Saturday in about three hours of football. For Jerry Jones, it must have been nice to see a Texas teams celebrate a championship in his stadium for a change… but we digress. . .

Saturday was a watershed moment much like the Lady Raiders winning the National Championship in 1993 or Texas Tech Baseball making the College World Series in 2014 and then Texas Tech Men’s Basketball playing for the National Championship in 2019… Saturday was all of that and more in a sense. It was the last domino to fall for long-time Red Raider Fans.

And it was worth it.

So today you wake up in a world where Texas Tech is the 4th seed in the College Football Playoff and will host either Oregon or James Madison. ( the team, not the dead President – that would be awkward and totally unfair ) on New Year’s Day 2026. And to show how much things have change in college football…a lot of Texas Tech fans were bummed out about going to the Orange Bowl instead of the Cotton Bowl. I’m trying to think what the collective reaction would have been in 1989 if Texas Tech were headed to the Orange Bowl… but we digress.

If all of that wasn’t good enough, Texas Tech MBB showed up Sunday and just obliterate undefeated LSU 82-58. It wasn’t that close. It was like a fun after-party for Texas Tech fans who stayed in the Metroplex, just letting folks know Texas Tech runs North Texas now…

All of this sets the stage for a great week of shows and we’ll start it tonight with The Daily Broadcast. Join us LIVE at 6:30 Central on X, Youtube and Facebook. All of our platforms, always free. Good, Bad & Ugly Recaps

Each Monday we recap the weekend that was in Good, Bad & Ugly Style!

Some things were good, some were bad and some were so ugly you just had to look away. Started in the summer of 1994 on The Williams & Hyatt Show on KFYO, we keep the legend alive here in Raiderland. So, what do y’all have this week? What makes your list, sports or otherwise? We’ll give you a few of ours, you give us yours in the comments below and then we’ll discuss in-depth tonight on The Daily Broadcast!

G: Texas Tech MBB. Looked a lot more organized and fluid Sunday. Looked like a Top 4 Seed candidate in March.
B: The run of 9-straight AFC West titles comes to an end for Patrick Mahomes and Kansas City. What’s Next?
U: The CFB Playoff committee trying to justify just about anything they chose to do this year. Clown Show. Remember, it isn’t legit playoff like in the NFL. It’s a TV show involving certain college football teams. Glad Texas Tech is in it, but it doesn’t change the fact that the process is ridiculous.

If you’re in the mountains of Red River, New Mexico; drop by the Brewery and tell them Raiderland said hello!!!!
