5 Things We Know On A Sunday

  1. The most important thing I learned in 2024 is that I have a tremendous amount of things to learn in 2025.
  2. I’m not saying I’m getting older… but I’m going to a New Year’s Eve party for the first time in a few years. It starts at lunch. I’m good with that!
  3. I still eat black-eyed peas each New Year’s Day. I’m not taking any chances.
  4. One of my least favorite memories growing up was the Orange Bowl. It was always played at night on New Year’s Day. The last of the major bowls that started with the Sugar Bowl, went to the Cotton Bowl, the Rose Bowl in the late afternoon and then the Orange Bowl to end it all. Half-Time of the Orange Bowl meant it was time to get ready to go back to school. I can’t back it up with facts, but it seems like we went back to school a lot on January 2nd or so back in the day. So, to this day, I still associate the Orange Bowl with the end of Christmas vacation.
  5. While there are still a few days left in 2024, and I don’t want to wish them away… the allure of a New Year is always intoxicating to me. No matter what happened or didn’t happen in 2024 for you, it can change in 2025. You can change. You can affect change on yourself, your family, your business and everything else in your life. 2025 will not happen To You. You will make 2025 anything and everything you want it to be. Am I giving you a Pep Talk? Nope. I’m reminding myself just what we are all capable of doing. Sometimes it just helps to write it down for y’all so I remember it my own self. So, Let’s end this year with gratitude and thanks and then embrace another trip around the sun with all the possibilities God gives us. That’s more than enough!
