5 Things We Know On A Sunday

  1. The “preparation” we saw by folks leading up to this Winter Storm this week leads me to believe that most folks aren’t really prepared for anything of consequence at all.
  2. If you live in West Texas, there’s no better sound than that of a rainstorm. That said, there’s something majestic about the powerful quiet of snow. A subtle reminder that not everything has to be chaotic and loud in this world. Snow gives you time to think. And eat cheesy hash brown soup with German sausage…. Win-Win.
  3. I’ve learned repeatedly over the decades that my Dad was right when telling teenage me that, “you hardly ever find yourself in trouble if you’re where you’re supposed to be.” A lot of folks seem to have never learned that lesson.
  4. Snow ice-cream is my favorite ice-cream. Again, not exactly like you get to enjoy that a lot living in West Texas.
  5. Admit it, at least one person in your family didn’t have an ice-scraper ready to go this week. In my family, I was that person. I really thought I had one in the truck. Amazing what you can use in that situation when you have to. . .

  1. Snow icecream is the best icecream. Hoping to whip up a batch today. Curious how the Hyatt’s make their snow icecream. Thankfully I am not traveling anywhere today as I have no clue where my ice scrapper is. I had a scrapper at one time- no clue where it is now.

  2. I’m taken back to my youth in North Dakota Yelling at our school superintendent threw the radio.Cancel school you sob.
