5 Things We Know On A Sunday

  1. The first of our litter of kittens began moving on to their new homes this week. It’s like sending a kid off to college. Except we don’t expect the cats to return during the summer and holidays and eat us out of house and home, steal all the towels in the house and stay up all night playing video games. At least we’re hoping that won’t be the case. So, two gone and four to go. We’re thinking about keeping the momma cat. She came in feral but has adjusted well to living inside. I think she likes the deal she got. So, if you’ve ever fostered dogs or cats, we now know how you feel. Glad you gave them a good home and a good start at life, but bittersweet to see them go. I guess one could say the same about kids!
  2. If we could all have as much fun at our “jobs” as the Texas Tech Softball players have doing theirs, life would be a lot better for folks. That’s one of the things I’ve really been impressed with and am trying to learn from watching the Red Raiders in the College World Series run. It’s OK to have fun while still being highly competitive and in-the-moment. A great life lesson.
  3. Top 3 Foods I Could Eat Every Day: No. 3. Fried Rice with any combination of chicken, shrimp, beef; you name it. Great fried rice is an art form. Also give me the fully leaded soy sauce. Not need to go light. No. 2. Pizza/Calzone. Everything I love about Italian food for the most part, all in one easy-to-handle slice or pie. No. 1. Mexican Food. Breakfast, lunch, supper; it doesn’t matter. So many flavors and dishes to choose from. Could easily do a month straight of Mexican Food and only Mexican food for all meals. And yes, I can make a Taco Pizza!
  4. After watching what’s gone on this go ’round down in Austin, I think we need to look at allowing the Texas Legislature to meet only once every four years for exactly 10 days. The State of Texas must be protected from the most dangerous amongst us. . . Politicians and Lobbyist.
  5. Not sure which reboot I’m looking forward to more this summer… Either King Of The Hill or Phineas and Ferb. Both great shows. If you have a kid in their late teens/early 20s then you probably know about P&F. Of course King Of The Hill should be shown in all Texas Schools as part of the curriculum. So, we have a “104 Days Of Summer Vacation”, let’s use them wisely this year with propane and propane accessories!

Thanks for taking a minute to read our Sunday musings. We always appreciate it and love it when you add your own comments and share it with your friends! See y’all Monday for our Good, Bad & Ugly weekend recap.
