And I would feel the same had they won – it just would have been really cool to see them do something that had never been done before with the three-peat.
Like you said, there’s a reason why it hasn’t happened – it’s freakin’ hard to do. And one reason why it’s so difficult and something I haven’t heard many folks mention is if you add up 5 Super Bowls and 2 additional title games – that’s a whole season of football that a good chunk of the league ain’t participating in. Not only that, but it’s seven consecutive reduced off-seasons.
To be clear about what I meant re: a whole season worth of games:
-seven seasons X 3 playoff games = 21 games
