Happy Monday, Y’all!

Texas Tech figured it out Sunday.

Don’t play.

The rains came at the right time in Stillwater for Texas Tech Baseball, washing out a Sunday third game and ensuring Tech will make the Big 12 Tournament. Since the Big 12 does not make up games, it has always gone on winning percentage. With three games to play, Baylor now can’t catch Texas Tech.

Yay.

it didn’t help Oklahoma State though, they needed wins to rundown OU so those thinking there was some sort of gentlemen’s agreement to cancel would be wrong. Legit weather did this. Thank you weather. I think.

So, while Tech will make the Big 12 Tournament, Texas Tech Softball was one of the first four left out of the NCAA Tournament. Not getting to thirty wins probably did the trick. Make no mistake though, this is a program back on the rise with Coach Snider. They need a few updgrades in talent and depth to be not just a Tournament team next year, but one that can compete for a top four finish in the new look Big 12 with OU and Texas heading out the door. Big 12 softball is there waiting for someone to take over now. . .

Raiderland Helmet Sticker

Each Monday we celebrate Awesomeness in Raiderland. We hand out the coveted Raiderland Helmet Stickers. Sports or non-sports, who gets yours today?

  1. All great Moms. Goes without saying. Least we can do is a helmet sticker.
  2. Texas Tech men’s and women’s track and field. Again, amongst the best in the nation and right there for Big 12 hardware this weekend. Lots of individuals have a shot a medaling at NCAA.
  3. Kyle Robinson. Tech’s Saturday starter pitched his guts out (again) against OSU, only to see the offense stall out (again) and the pen falter (again).

Just a sample of ours. You go post yours in the comments below and if we have time for a Daily Broadcast tonight we’ll give you a few more. Tonight is my son’s Athletic Banquet so not sure on timelines right now. The week of high school graduation is upon us. No rest for the weary!

Raiderland Hot-Links
