Happy Monday, Y’all.
You know what to do. Let’s hand out some of those coveted Raiderland Helmet Stickers today. Who deserves some recognition for being great and doing great things in your world. Sports or non-sports, it doesn’t matter. Greatness is great no matter where we find it in Raiderland. So let’s celebrate it. For sure, one of my stickers will go to the Air Raiders and The Basketball Tournament. Three good days of basketball in Lubbock in July. We’ll take it. Two really good crowds in Lubbock. We’ll take it. Hopefully This becomes an annual summer ritual in the Hubbaplex. Do the Texas Rangers get a sticker? Yep. We’ll talk about them and much more on the Daily Broadcast tonight around 6:30ish on Twitter Live, Facebook Live and Youtube.
Now, on to the Question O’ The Day:
How big was your Hometown when you were born in it? Of course now we’ve got to reveal our age to about a ten-year census window, so there’s that… But otherwise, let’s see how many different towns we can get and how many “small-towns” we have out there for Jason Aldean to sing about. (Josh Abbott’s song was better. . . )If you were born somewhere and then moved quickly to what you consider your Hometown, that works too. Just list them both.
As for me, Amarillo was a thriving city of about 145,000 folks when I was born there in the late 1960s. After that we moved to Canyon where the population was just around 10,000 in the mid-70s. From there it was on to Lubbock and the South Plains. I never thought of Canyon as really my Hometown, but gladly claim it as a great place to be a kid. What about y’all? Where do you come from, Raiderland!
See y’all at 6:30sih.

I grew up in El Paso. It never felt like a large city growing up there. The mountain divided the city up into sections. I grew up on the Westside and that felt like you knew everyone on your side of town. Now going back there now you notice how big of a city it is.
How different does El Paso feel to you now that you’re grown?

It feels like a larger city. I mean the Westside has grown so much that it basically extends into New Mexico now. Same with the Eastside. It takes me about an hour to leave my mom’s house and drive out of the city limits now.
