Happy Friday, Y’all

The temps have cooled down a bit from Thursday, we’ve got a nice breeze and it’s a perfect Friday for some high school football, setting up a great Saturday for an 11 AM kick for Texas Tech and Kent State.

Since it’s Friday, you can start making your predictions here on the site this morning. We’ll have our Official Prediction tonight on the Daily Broadcast. I’ll say right now I think the 48.5 point spread is a little large for my taste. Even with playing the whole third and fourth quarters, we assume, I’d expect Tech’s scoring to moderate just a little bit down and for Kent State to score a little more than UAPB did.

Somewhere in the upper 50s for Tech seems good and I’d settle for Tech allowing 13-14 points on the day. As we saw last week, it’s virtually impossible to get a shut-out in this era of college football. Every rule is designed to help the offense and hurt the defense. When you see a team get shut-out, you’ve either seen a wretchedly bad offense or a generationally great defense. Maybe both.

We’ll get into Texas Tech, the rest of the Big 12, recap Dallas and Philly ( what a strange game ) and preview KC vs LAC tonight down in Brazil. What? They couldn’t play in Muleshoe??? Join in on The Daily Broadcast LIVE at 6:30 Central tonight via X, YouTube or Facebook. All of our platforms FREE, Always!

If you missed the Thursday night show, fret not. We archive everything we do right here on the site.

Get your comments, questions and predictions ready to go and we’ll see you on the show tonight!

Most Texan Thing

Each Friday we ask one simple question in Raiderland.

What’s The Most Texan Thing You Did This Week?

Big or small, we want to hear about it. We love it when Texans report in from outside the boundaries of The Lone Star State. So drop us a line in the comments and tell us about your week. Anyone kill a rattlesnake? Let us know!
