Happy Thursday, Y’all !

Yep. It’s a Happy Thursday in Raiderland. Even with the loss by Texas Tech Softball in game one of the WCWS finals 7-3 last night to Texas in OKC, it’s still a great morning. Why?

Rain.

We got great rains the last 48 hours and it’s raining again this morning early. Much needed for all the Ag producers from cotton farmers to ranchers and everyone else. We take it when we can get It around here. The timing isn’t so great for some farmers still trying to plant, but that will work out just fine. At least it will give some crops a fighting chance around here that were doomed to failure otherwise.

That great rain will always be bigger than a win or loss on the field around these parts. So let it rain.

Now, on the field, it rained runs early for Texas Softball against Texas Tech. Texas was up 5-1 after the first inning and the decision was made by Gerry Glasco to pulll both Canady and Terry from the circle and go with Samantha Lincoln. It was the right call. Some saw it as Glasco giving up. Instead he was employing a move Tim Tadlock used so well over the years in tournament play like this. You never let one game beat you twice.

You saved innings for your best pitchers, and you kept Texas from getting multiple at-bats against them. Both will be fresh tonight and a fresh look mainly to Texas hitters. Lincoln was rock-solid for Tech and gave you a fighting chance but it was still the right move based on what we were watching early on.

Meanwhile Texas used their ace, Teagan Kavan for 115 pitches Wednesday against Texas Tech. Texas Tech was figuring some things out late. If they see her again we expect better success for the Texas Tech bats. Either way, what was billed as a battle of the two best teams from a year ago didn’t quite live up to the hype. We’ll see what tonight holds. Win or call it another great year a game short for the Red Raiders. What will it be?

We’ll discuss that, Texas Tech Baseball losing players in the portal, maybe even some Texas Tech Baseball and much more tonight with y’all on The Daily Broadcast. Join the show LIVE at 5:30 Central via Twitter/X, Raiderland YouTube Channel and the growing Raiderland Facebook Page. All free so subscribe to each one and never miss a thing.
