5. Lubbock’s Chamber of Commerce announced this past week it is looking to “rebrand” the city and is seeking a new slogan. I’m not sure I know the slogan of any city nor do I care. Has anyone ever moved a family or a business to a city because of a slogan? I get marketing a city, but how about focusing on the things that allow you to effectively market? Maybe start with lowering city debt, lowing tax rates and stopping appraisal creep, improving inner-city schools and focusing on infrastructure and needs instead of dog parks and splash pads.
