Happy Monday, Y’all !

This time next week, it will be game week.

That sounds pretty good right now. With temps up in the 100s and our yard dying by the minute…just the idea of football makes life a little more tolerable this week. And there’s more good news!

Now, thanks to a court ruling, you can play in the NFL and come back and play college football.

You can’t make this stuff up.

Of course Texas Tech fans have to tread a little gently here because you’re trying to get Donovan Atwell back after he played in the NBA Summer League. What a world…

We’re still waiting for all the folks saying Texas Tech was destroying the integrity of the sport to launch the same things at LSU and the SEC. I won’t be holding my breath. Nor should you. Remember, it’s ok for some schools to “play by the rules”, even if the rules suck. But for other programs like Texas Tech… well we can’t have schools like that crashing the elitist party. The hypocrisy is notable and expected. . .

Back here in West Texas, Texas Tech Soccer opened up at home with a 2-0 win at a sold-out Fort Walker. I’m not sure the backstory on how it went from the Walker Complex to Ft. Walker. Need to get Tom Stone on for that and many other reasons this week. From highlights you’d could see and feel the fan energy. Folks standing all around the field, hanging out at the fence, like it was Friday night in Ropes. Got to be one of the better atmospheres in all of college soccer.

One the football side of things, Texas Tech moves closer to a game-week mode so don’t expect many media reports if any out of practices. Even the limited things the media was allowed to watch go away now. Just the way it is these days.

We’ll discuss all of that plus whatever else the day brings us news-wise. And we do figure these days that that will involve lawyers and judges in the world of sports. Join us LIVE at 5:30 Central for The Daily Broadcast via Twitter/X, The Raiderland YouTube Channel or our growing and fun Raiderland Facebook page.

If you missed the Friday night show, here ya go. Might be new around here and just want to see what’s going on.

Get your questions and comments ready to go for a Monday and we’ll see you at 5:30. Invite your friends who need more Raiderland in their lives.
