Southwest Conference Power Rankings – Week 6
The Southwest Conference Power Rankings have returned with a vengeance this season. The points system is simple and merit based on opponents, covering the point spread, and actual wins.
The Points System
Win: 10 points
Covers Spread: 5 points
P5 win: 4 points
Road win: 3 points
G5 win: 2 points
FCS win: 1 point
1st TCU 6-0 (95) +14
The Frogs won a huge game against Oklahoma State and now have another bug matchup against Kansas State with a chance to make another statement for their Big 12 Title and College Football Playoff hopes.

2nd Texas 5-2 (91) +14
The Longhorns struggled with Iowa State at home and Quin Evers looked rather average against the Cyclones. Texas now faces an Oklahoma State squad which was tripped up by TCU.

3rd Arkansas 4-3 (69) +22
The Razorbacks marched into Provo and ran wild on BYU for over 600 yards of offense in a 52-35 victory that wasn’t as close as the score shows.

4th Rice 3-3 (60) +5
The Owls fell 17-14 to FAU, but continues to be nails against the spread as they’re a money maker if you’re of that persuasion. Rice takes on the fightin’ Sonny Cumbies of La Tech where they finally play as a favorite.

The Bears fell to previously hapless West Virginia and now are looking at a possible 4-4 start and a failed Big 12 Title defense.

The Aggies have a tougher than expected road trip to South Carolina and looking at a likely free fall to finish the season. Sound familiar?

The Coogs take on Navy this weekend in Annapolis and believe it or not can still make a run for the American Conference Championship.

The Red Raiders come off a bye with a return home facing West Virginia and a chance to end the two-game losing streak. Who starts for Tech at QB? It doesn’t matter for this game.

The Mustangs rebounded to take down Navy and face Cincinnati in Dallas. Can the Stangs keep it close with he reigning AAC Champs?
