We got a new month and it’s one of our favorites. We get post-season college baseball, the Triple Crown starts off summer horse racing series and the weather in West Texas is about as good as it gets anywhere. Always a great time when the calendar hits May.
The Red Raiders got back in the win column at home Tuesday night with a win over UTRGV 11-6 on Bark at the Park night. Love dogs. Don’t love your dog being at my baseball game. Anyhow…
Texas Tech had to earn it. That’s the same UTRGV bunch that beat Texas earlier this season, so they were more than capable of upsetting Tech. Bats kept bailing out the pitching early and then the arms settled down late throwing four shutout innings to end the game. That’ll work.
Now it’s OU coming to town. They’re good. They’re also pretty good on the road, going 9-4 this year. OU starts the day with an RPI of 26 while Tech is 38 on the D1 Baseball.com RPI Rankings.
Take the series and Texas Tech will be back in discussion for a 2-seed perhaps. Lots of outs to record between now and then though. Just stay away from College Station.
