The Saturday Column With No Name
- No matter how clean you think your kitchen is, no matter how much pride you take in making your home look fantastic….just move your refrigerator out and see what happens. I’m very proud. There were no animals or anything that resembled something truly organic under our fridge today when we moved it out and brought in the new one. Can’t wait to do that again in 10 or 12 years….
- Americans love the Kentucky Derby for a few simple reasons. You can bet on it. You can dress up and wear crazy hats. You can talk about horses like you know what you’re talking about and you get to drink a drink you’d never drink if you had a choice…Hello there mint julep. What egg nog is to Christmas, the mint julep is to the first Saturday in May. It shows up out of nowhere, goes strong and hard for a weekend, and then we don’t hear about it again for another year.
- The Texas Rangers are now 16-17 on the year and it’s amazing they’ve won 16 games. They’ve scored a mere 61 runs fewer on the young season than AL West leading Seattle and just 78 fewer runs than the Yankees. These are my Texas Rangers! I’m much more comfortable with this kind of dreck out of Texas as a fan since the 1970s than I was saying, Defending World Series Champion Texas Rangers. Question. How long does this franchise get to life off an improbably run in 2023?
See y’all in the morning with our 5 Things We Know On A Sunday Column. We’ll also have Diamond Talk LIVE on Sunday afternoon after Texas Tech and West Virginia wrap-up their series in Morgantown. Rain Permitting.
