Basketball is over and we welcome you to the Transfer Portal Season, already in progress. . .
The first big move on from Texas Tech MBB was LeJuan Watts on Monday. No shock and judging from fan reaction, most were fine with his choice. Watts represented this Tech season in a microcosm. Maddeningly inconsistent, even in the same games. He never seemed to have a role or understand his role. And now, he’s off to seek his entertainment, and NIL money, elsewhere.
And, like every other major college basketball program, Texas Tech will rebuild and reload and you’ll need to buy a program for the first few games. The “big” note out of the Michigan title win last night was how no starter for the Wolverines begin their college career at Michigan. Get used to it. Tech right now is doing better than most at bringing in young players and growing them. Not that it matter, but we hope that trend continues. Nice to see players for two and three years at a time. We get it.
