The NCAA Softball selection committee hammered Texas Tech seeding-wise Sunday and it was Texas Tech that gave them the hammer they wanted with two late season losses to Baylor and then Arizona State. . .
A team that has spent all season ranked across the board by all the Softball Experts in the Top 5 was given an 11 national seed by the committee. It’s our contention that there are a lot of folks involved in college softball who don’t like Texas Tech, the head coach and “how” Texas Tech has tried to crash their little party of elite and entitled programs. They don’t want to grow the sport, they want it to be their own private club.
Texas Tech is a threat to do that.
If Texas Tech can, why anyone could just start showing up and getting great players and coaching them up and start going to the CWS in OKC. Why….we can’t have that now, can we!
So, when a team with 50 wins dropped two games late to two NCAA Tournament teams, they had their shot and took. Knocked ’em out of a guarantee slot to host a Super Regional and teaches them a lesson about METRICS. Never mind the so-called Softball Experts who observed the team and talent all year and ranked accordingly.
You’d never see this in college baseball. A legit conference champion with proven talent not getting a top eight seed. Too much integrity in the game. But this isn’t college baseball. This is Dynasty and Dallas and it’s a little club that the members don’t want to see Texas Tech in.
