Happy Tuesday, Y’all !
It’s on to OKC.
With he drama of the Florida weekend past, sorta, it’s on to the College World Series for Texas Tech Softball. Next up is the Mississippi State team that eliminated OU in Norman. They shouldn’t be playing with any confidence or anything. While not as talented as Texas Tech, Tennessee or Texas; you’ve got to respect them. They obviously can handle pressure and are now playing on house money. They literally have nothing to lose. Will the locals rally around them as an underdog after they took out the crowd favorite in Oklahoma? We’ll see. I wonder if we’ll find out how many transfers they have on their roster Thursday morning during the ESPN broadcast….
After that, you look at Tennessee with one of the dominant pitchers in the country in Karlyn Pickens and a Texas team that won it all last year but might be a little down offensively and there’s the three potential teams Texas Tech will/might play this weekend.
Of the four teams, Texas Tech appears to be the most well-balanced between pitching and hitting with Texas Tech having a big advantage at the plate. Not saying Kaitlyn Terry and Nijaree Candy can’t pitch your way to the the finals, but it still feels like this team is best when bashing. We’ll see how well the ball carries this week in OKC. Either way, gonna be a lot of fun and tickets should be easier to get for Texas Tech fans with OU sitting at home.
