Amidst all of the rancor and angst regarding LSU, the Big 10 banning NFL players and all of that on Tuesday….a big thing happened for Texas Tech Football.

A really big thing.

Austin Attahlah is a beast 6-7 and 270 out of Orange, California. This is the type of linemen who could start from day one at the highest of levels. And he’s coming to Texas Tech. The fact he does all of this on the most popular sports show going with Pat McAfee only strengthens the brand that Texas Tech is right now in the football world.

This also proves that this model is sustainable for Texas Tech. They’re building with selected high school elite players like this or LaDamion Guyton on the defensive line. It’s not just portal guys. But remember that when each and ever broadcast talks more about the portal and less about the “program guys” that make up the bulk of the roster. Fascinating to watch.
