Happy Friday, Y’all !
It wasn’t supposed to end that way….
It wasn’t supposed to end on a frustrating day in the Orange Bowl for Texas Tech Football, for so many reasons, but it did and now we get to sort through it all and provide context and meaning. And most of it is…well, great.
Was the game great against Oregon? Nope. Hell nope. Did we have any indication Texas Tech would be a complete no-show on offense? No. Anyone who did, we hope y’all made a ton of money betting it that way, because a lot of folks lost a lot of money on Tech Thursday. But, now it doesn’t matter.
Now we begin to put into context what this season meant and it meant everything to a program void of history. It gives Tech a Big 12 Title. A Big 12 Championship game win. 12 wins in a season. A game under its belt in the College Football Playoff. All things that haven’t happened around here.
If that sounds familiar, we’re describing pretty much what Indiana experienced a year ago. Can’t Texas Tech follow the Hoosier path and parlay 2025 into more success in 2026? We’re gonna find out fast. The portal opens in hours, Texas Tech Board of Regents Chair Cody Campbell, you may have heard of him, told USA Today that he’s and Tech are ready to “double-down” when it comes to the program and the plan of portal, NIL and more.
I believe him.
So, beginning tonight on The Daily Broadcast we’ll look back on a special year for Texas Tech fans and look ahead to What’s Next. Seems to be a mantra around Texas Tech right now.

Most Texan Thing

It all started well over a decade ago, us asking our friends on Facebook what the most Texan thing was that they’d done over the past week. It kinda exploded from there and here we are, all these years later still finding out how you folks have been carrying the banner of Texas each week.
So, start the year strong and tell us:
What’s The Most Texan Thing You Did This Week?
For a lot of my friends it was how well y’all represented Texas Tech, West Texas and the whole Lone Star State in Miami and at the Orange Bowl. Tech folks showed up strong. Bartenders learned how to make Chiltons. Uber drivers learned how to scream Raider Power. Texan Things were done. So fire away in the comments and let us know what you did this week. The world needs more Texans doing Texan Things.
We’ll discuss in-depth tonight on the Daily Broadcast. Be sure and ask your friends on Social Media what they did this week.
