Welcome back to the new column. The one we can’t think of a cool name for. So, if you got any ideas, fire away in the comments. It’s similar to the 5 Things We Know On A Sunday, but this one will be more sports-focused. So, get creative and add some of your own thoughts to in the comment section.

1. It makes absolutely no sense, and is highly illogical, that there are voters who didn’t vote for Eli Manning for the Pro Football Hall of Fame, but say they will in the future. Either you’re a hall of fame or you’re not. I don’t care about first ballot status. That’s stupid. What is Manning gonna do between now and next year? Beat Tom Brady again? If he’s good enough to go in later, he’s good enough to go in now. Maybe we just need to change it up and say everyone gets one shot at the ballot. That’s it. Might put pressure on the dolts who vote to get over their personal agendas and just reward and respect the great players of the game.
2. When it comes to post-season games and needing to get a score with a minute or less to go, Patrick Mahomes is 7-7 in his career. Remember that stat tomorrow before you bet on the Philadelphia Eagles in the Super Bowl. Want to bet the Eagles, fine. But if you lose your bet to Patrick Mahomes at this point in his career, just tip your hat and walk away. I might not bet on the Chiefs, but I sure as heck won’t lose money to Mahomes.
3. Former West Texas State and Dallas Cowboys RB Duane Thomas still has the greatest Super Bowl quote of all-time. “If it’s the ultimate, how come they’re playing it next year?”. Can’t beat 1970s wisdom.
