We’ve got Day Baseball in the Hubbaplex.
With a great chance for rain tonight, Texas Tech has moved up their mid-week series against UTRGV to one o’clock today. By moving the game, y’all realize this means it won’t rain any where near Dan Law Field, right! Oh well. They mean well.
As for on the field, this will be a great test to see if Texas Tech can maintain the momentum of winning four of their last five games. It will start with pitching. If Tech can get a solid start out of Connor Mohan that will set the tone for the mid-week. He looked good at ACU, now can he do it at home. He’s also auditioning for a starting spot in the rotation at the Big 12 Tournament. In fact, all Tech pitchers need to be thinking that way right now. One game at a time, all building to four days in May if you want to extend your season.
Tech starts the day in the D1 Baseball RPI at 62. That’s the best that number has been all season. UTRGV comes in with an RPI of 39 with 9 wins against top 50 teams. They’re no slouch, so Tech better show up like they did against Arizona….
