Happy Foggy, Wet Wednesday, y’all!
It’s the kind of morning you expect to hear bagpipes playing in the distance. And in the distance is always a good place for bagpipes… Wet and foggy today and sounds like that’s the forecast around West Texas until Friday. That’s ok. We need the precipi no matter how we get it right now around these parts.
Texas Tech Men’s Basketball toughed out a 82-76 win over Oral Roberts Tuesday night in Lubbock. We wondered how the Cambridge injury would impact the team. The only good thing about it, and it’s not really good, is that Tech has a few more games before Big 12 play to sort things out without him. It was already a big learning curve for this team and now his absence for the year will set it back more. How much? Remains to be seen. The Red Raiders didn’t shoot great last night at 40% but they did grab a lot of offensive rebounds. You better do that if you’re gonna shoot bad. Tech turned that into 25 second chance points. 25-9 margin over ORU there is one big reason they won. That’s not usually something you duplicate a lot. I still think this team takes too many 3’s, but then I’m old. Next up for the men is Andy on Saturday in Forth Worth.
Pray for the Lady Raiders today. Is the Education Game this morning. Thousands of elementary age kids at United Supermarkets Arena. The noise level is loud, high-pitched and constant. The worst headaches I’ve had over the years have been after these games. But hey, it’s for the kids, right!
Bandwagon Wednesday
What are you ON this week and what are you OFF? Sports or otherwise, it’s important to let folks know where you stand on things. We’ll of course talk a lot about this tonight on the Daily Broadcast that rolls out around 6:30ish LIVE on X, YouTube and Facebook. Follow us in all those old familiar places.
ON: The greatness of Al Michaels as a play-by-play announcer. He’s being left out of the NFL post-season by NBC. I get it. He’s still great.
OFF: 4-Way Stops in Lubbock. Please, spend the money and put up lights. Just do it. I’d rather watch Iowa play a football game than sit at a 4-way stop and watch folks lockdown mentally.
