Happy Friday and 5th Day of Christmas, y’all!
And suddenly it was Friday and another holiday weekend. . . This week just flew by. Hopefully y’all got everything done you needed to get done.
Texas Tech MBB did what they needed to do Thursday night beating a bad team badly. 96-60 over Sam Houston State won’t have anyone talking about it in March, but they sure would have if Tech stumbled. They did not and now it’s just North Alabama for the Red Raiders before they open Big 12 play against Texas. Most likely, Tech will start conference play just on the bubble of projected teams to make the NCAA Tournament. That’s fine. It’s better than where they’ve been lately at this point. Just playing the Big 12 gets you a bump in RPI/KenPom. Go .500 in league play and Tech will be a 6-8 seed in the Tournament. That’ll work for year one under Grant McCasland.
Most Texan Thing You’ve Done This Week
Each Friday we find out just how Texan you were over the past week. Some weeks it gets really Western. Some weeks you gotta work at it. This week we’ll submit picking up family members at the nearby cotton gin to drive them in for Christmas since their vehicles couldn’t handle our dirt/mud/rutted out roads. Merry Christmas! You’ll leave when we’re ready to take ya back!
